La Experiencia en Noah's Rainbow 

La educación preescolar (3 a 6 años) constituye la base para el nivel de la primaria (6 a 12 años). En la metodología Montessori el nivel de preescolar es de suma importancia pues es en esta etapa que el niño debe lograr su normalización de lo cual depende que pueda seguir avanzando en su vida escolar – académica.

La normalización significa que el niño logre desarrollar atención, concentración, coordinación, independencia, autocontrol de su cuerpo, aprenda a regular sus emociones y reacciones de forma que pueda relacionarse adecuadamente consigo mismo, los demás y su ambiente. 

En nuestro programa además de ofrecerle el ambiente preparado y la guía para lograr estos hitos del desarrollo, le ofrecemos la guía bíblica para conocer a su Creador y comenzar a desarrollar una relación de amor y obediencia al Señor.  

Además del trabajo con los materiales en cada área del ambiente Montessori desarrollamos un currículo educativo para trabajar el idioma español a partir de cuatro ejes temáticos:

•        El cuerpo humano y la relación con el entorno
•       Familia, comunidad
•     Cuidado del ambiente, plantas y animales
•     El Universo, el planeta Tierra

Otras áreas a trabajar son:

• ·         Artes: teatro, pintura, manualidades, apreciación musical
• ·         Cocina

Curriculum

The Noah's Rainbow Experience

Pre-school education (3 to 6 years) forms the basis for the primary level (6 to 12 years). In the Montessori methodology, the preschool level is of the utmost importance because it is at this stage that children must achieve their normalization on which it depends that they can continue to advance in their academic - school life.

Normalization means that children achieve to develop attention, concentration, coordination, independence, self-control of their bodies, learn to regulate their emotions and reactions so that they can relate adequately to themselves, others and their environment.

In our program, in addition to offering the prepared environment and the guidance to achieve these milestones of development, we offer the biblical guide to know our Creator and begin to develop a relationship of love and obedience to the Lord.

In addition to the work with the materials in each area of the Montessori environment, we developed an educational curriculum to work the Spanish language from four thematic axes:

1. The human body and the relationship with the environment

2. Family, community

3. Care of the environment, plants, and animals

4. The Universe, the planet Earth

Other areas to work are:

• Arts: theater, painting, crafts, musical appreciation

• Cooking class 

Who I am?

I am Rosanna Abreu. I hold a B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in family therapy from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), Dominican Republic (Autonomous Universty of Santo Domingo). I studied Montessori Preschool, at the Montessori Training Center of Santo Domingo, which is praised by the American Montessori Society (AMS). I operated my own Montessori School in the Dominican Republic and acted as a consultant on Montessori education prior to moving to the United States. I have experience in the fields of preschool pedagogy and special education. 

The most important thing is that I am born again in our Lord Jesus Christ.

For Him, it is the Glory and Honor to begin this educational project to educate our children in Him for the New World that He will establish.

After many years in the field of education and therapy and after having used and studied different discipline and education approaches, such as Positive Discipline, Education in Values and Virtues, Montessori Philosophy, among others and by my own personal experience, I can To assure that all of them, although they are good, the results do not have a solid base without the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 As his word says in Isaiah 64: 6  "But we are all as unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; ..." and Colossians 2: 8 "See that no one deceives you by philosophies and empty niceties, according to the traditions of men, according to the rudiments of the world, and not according to Christ. "

For a New Age and a New World in Jesus of Nazareth let's: 

"Instruct the child in his path, and even when he is old he will not turn away from him." Proverbs 22: 6

Area de Cultural

Área de Cultural

El área de Cultural en el nivel de los niños de 3 a 6 años se trabaja en conjunto con el área de lenguaje ya que ayuda en el desarrollo del vocabulario, la formación y expresión del pensamiento y el razonamiento.

El niño necesita observar, tener experiencias, conocer el concepto de las cosas y materializarlas por medio de símbolos. Rn función de corresponder a la necesidad que tiene el niño de empezar a tener una visión general en su primer contacto con el medio ambiente, la Dra. Montessori sugiere ayuda antes de que el niño tenga seis años.

Dice María Montessori que el niño necesita adquirir experiencias concretas manipulando y explorando. Presentar al niño una visión clara del universo y su creación, y como las cosas están interconectadas entre sí.

Por medio de las presentaciones de los materiales en un lenguaje sencillo y a la vez impresionante el niño puede adquirir conocimientos en las siguientes áreas:

·         Historia: el Universo, concepto de tiempo y su medición, clima y estaciones, necesidades fundamentales del hombre, etc.

·         Geografía: globo terráqueo, continentes, accidentes geográficos, nombre de países, sus banderas y cultura.

·         Zoología: clasificación y nomenclatura de los animales en vertebrados e invertebrados., experimentos.

·         Botánica: nomenclatura de botánica, partes y función de la raíz, la flor, la hoja, el árbol, etc. Experimentos.

·         Experimentos: Flota y se hunde, actividad magnética, la gravedad, erupción de un volcán, etc.

·         Arte: apreciación de la historia del arte, pintura, escultura, música, teatro, etc.

Dentro de nuestro currículo tenemos la personalización de los materiales de cultural, esto significa por ejemplo que si un niño tiene origines étnicos de Filipinas preparamos un material especial con lo referente a la cultura y costumbres de ese país. Esto ayuda al niño a conectarse con sus raíces y a poder apreciar y relacionarse de forma mas positiva con sus padres, abuelos, tíos, primos, etc. Además, ayuda a los otros niños a apreciar la diversidad cultural. 

Cultural Area

The Cultural area at the level of children aged 3 to 6 years is worked in conjunction with the language area as it helps in the development of vocabulary, training, and expression of thought and reasoning.

The child needs to observe, to experience, know the concept of things and materialize them through symbols. 

In order to correspond to the child's need to begin to have a general vision in his first contact with the environment, Dr. Montessori suggests help before the child is six years old.

Maria Montessori says that the child needs to acquire concrete experiences by manipulating and exploring. Present the child a clear vision of the universe and its creation, and how things are interconnected with each other.

Through the presentations of the Cultural materials in a simple and impressive language, the child can acquire knowledge in the following areas:

• History: The Universe, concept of time and its measurement, climate and seasons, fundamental human needs, etc.

• Geography: globe, continents, geographical features, the name of countries, their flags and culture, etc.

• Zoology: classification and nomenclature of animals in vertebrates and invertebrates., Experiments.

• Botany: botanical nomenclature, parts, and function of the root, flower, leaf, tree, etc. Experiments

• Experiments: Floats and sinks, magnetic activity, gravity, etc.

• Art: appreciation of the history of art, painting, sculpture, music, theater, etc.

Within our curriculum we have the personalization of cultural materials, this means for example that if a child has ethnic origins of the Philippines we prepare a special material with regard to the culture and customs of that country. This helps the child to connect with his roots and to be able to appreciate and relate more positively to his parents, grandparents, cousins, etc. It also helps other children to appreciate cultural diversity.

Área de Matemáticas

Para el niño avanzar a trabajar los materiales del Area de Matemáticas debe haber logrado dominar el uso de la mayoría de los materiales de Vida Practica y Sensorial. La razón para seguir esta secuencia es que son estos materiales los que permiten al niño normalizarse, es decir lograr cierto nivel de autocontrol, desarrollar el sentido propioceptivo y sobre todo lograr trabajar con orden concentración, coordinación e independencia. Por lo tanto, en el salón de niños de 3 a 6 años durante los primeros dos o tres meses nos concentramos en trabajar los materiales de Vida Practica y Sensorial para luego introducir las áreas más académicas como son matemáticas, lenguaje, cultura y ciencias.

Los niños en esta etapa van de lo concreto a lo abstracto por lo que los materiales de Matemáticas llevan este orden de presentación. La Dra. Montessori diseño varios materiales que permiten al niño dominar los conceptos matemáticos básicos de forma concreta dejando una impronta en la mente del niño que le permitirá entender más tarde conceptos matemáticos con un alto nivel de abstracción, como son el paso de una categoría decimal a otra, (decena a centena), operaciones matemáticas básicas de forma dinámica (ejem. tomar una decena prestada en resta), binomio, trinomio, etc.

Entre los conceptos matemáticos que un niño de 3 a 6 años de edad aprende trabajando con los materiales del Área de Matemáticas, tenemos: numeración, cantidad, fracciones, valor de posición y las operaciones básicas de adición, multiplicación, sustracción y división.

Los materiales se presentan en el siguiente orden:

Introducción a los números

• ·          Números de lija (relación entre el nombre del número y el símbolo)

Las cuatro operaciones con el sistema decimal: suma, resta, multiplicación y división
